Environmental Quotes:

  • "He that plants trees loves others besides himself."
                                               -Thomas Fuller

  • "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."
                                               -Native American

  • "We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect."

                                                -Aldo Leopold

Tips and Tricks-Library

Why you should use libraries: Along with being free, a library is a great place to borrow a book, and be eco-friendly at the same time! Because libraries reuse books, many individuals can borrow and enjoy the same book, instead of each person buying their own copy that they might only read once. Make sure that if you own books that you are not reading, you let friends and family borrow them, or sell/donate them. That way someone else can enjoy the books as well! You can also ditch paper copy’s entirely and read an e-book or listen to an audiobook. All you have to do is download an app, hook it up to your library card, and dive into the world of literature.

EMC art!

(Today is going to be a quick post) We want to create a place where people of any age can express themselves and showcase their art. All you have to do is draw a picture following the theme we provide for you monthly. After you finish your picture, follow the guidelines below to send it to us. Please keep in mind that anything you write for the guidelines will be posted on the blog. (anything that may be considered inappropriate will be left out of the post)

March's theme is endangered animals, so all you have to do is pick an endangered animal, draw a picture of it, and send it to environmentalart20@gmail.com.
(example)

  1. Write your name (optional) Example: Sophia J.
  2. Write your age (optional)
  3. Write what this picture is about, or what it represents, or why you chose to draw it
  4. Send a picture or a link to your picture, along with the answers to the guidelines at this Gmail: environmentalart20@gmail.com

EMC Introduction

EMC (Environmental Movement Club) is a non-profit organization that raises awareness about subjects such as pollution, climate change, sea level rising, endangered animals, deforestation, and much, much more. We also raise money that goes to help other organizations that help make the earth cleaner and healthier. We are a group of middle school students that noticed litter on the streets and wanted to help. It just started with two of us but has now grown to a little over ten members, though we are slowly gaining more. Unfortunately, we will not be able to post regularly because we all go to school during the day. Also, we are working on an enormous project which will also mess with our posting schedule. But, when we do post, this is our schedule:
- on Mondays, we will post Meatless Meals
- on Wednesdays, we will post Tips and Tricks to Help the Earth
- on Fridays, we will post Quotes
- on Saturday we will post Miscellaneous
- on Sunday we will post EMC art (This will be on a monthly basis, not on a weekly basis unlike the other days)
